This page tracks every original YouTube data study we publish, all measured from our own tracked-channel data instead of a survey or a guess. The table below is the current list. It grows as each study ships, so treat it as the live source rather than a fixed count.
Every study here follows the same rule before it gets written: if a competitor without our database could publish the same article, we do not write it. Below is what has shipped, what is measured next, and how the underlying data gets collected.
Published
| Study | Sample | Headline finding |
|---|---|---|
| The Ideal YouTube Video Length in 2026 | 30,360 videos, 14 niches | Typical length ranges 3.6 to 27.7 minutes by niche. Published averages are inflated up to 3.83x by outlier uploads. |
| YouTube Title Length Doesn't Predict Performance | 28,947 videos, 707 channels | Correlation of 0.0046 between title length and performance, negligible in every niche tested. |
| Best Time to Post, by Niche and by Cadence | 35,466 videos / 974 channels (timing), 747 channels (cadence) | Pooled timing effect is nearly flat (0.167 spread) but real per niche, up to 4.8x. Upload cadence has no pooled link to growth, and flips by niche too, cooking and education reward posting more, gaming and tech do not. |
| How Long Do YouTube Views Take? 18,423-Video Study | 18,423 videos, 837 channels | 94.5% of a video's day-30 views arrive by day 7. Front-loading varies by niche (news 98.9%, fitness/beauty 82%) and Shorts front-load slightly faster than long-form. |
| What Is a Good YouTube Engagement Rate? 49,802-Video Study | 49,802 videos, 3 dimensions (niche, format, subscriber tier) | Long-form engagement rate ranges 2.03x by niche. Long-form beats Shorts in every niche measured, by 1.4x, the reverse of a competitor claim. Subscriber count matters less than niche. |

More studies are planned from the same dataset. None have a confirmed title yet, check back on this page for what ships next.
We measure your channel the same wayChannel Audit runs the same kind of real data check on your own channel: length, cadence, and format mix against what is working in your niche right now.Run a Channel Audit →How We Collect This
Every study on this page comes from the same weekly channel-tracking infrastructure, not a one-off pull built for a single article. Each week, we walk the uploads playlist of every tracked channel through YouTube's own API, record real duration and publish timestamps, and snapshot view, like, and comment counts for videos still in their first 180 days.
That data accumulates whether or not an article is being written from it. A study either clears a real data floor, 30 channels and 500 videos minimum, or it does not get published, and every figure here states its real sample size rather than a rounded estimate.
More Studies Are Already Queued
This page gets longer as each one ships, not rewritten. Check back, or follow any individual study, they link back here and to each other as the list grows.
